10.3 Mega Pixels
Delivering leading edge image resolution for the photo enthusiast market, the Cyber-shot R1 captures images at an incredible 10.3 Mega Pixels. This means that it can capture over 10 million pixels per shot, ensuring maximum image quality and clarity. This level of resolution is ideal for printing enlarge photos up to A3 size, without losing any of the finest details.
Sony CMOS Image Sensor
The Sony CMOS Image Sensor is the result of expertise cultivated over many years of CCD development. With a larger pixel size than conventional CMOS sensors, the Cyber-shot R1’s Sony CMOS Image Sensor allows increased light sensitivity, amplifying the signal within each pixel and is the first digital camera in the world with a “Full-time Live View” camera system. It is also able to transmit signals faster, resulting in lower power consumption.
Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T* Lens
Each Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T*Lens is designed, through simulating MTF (Modulation Transfer Function), to reduce Chromatic Aberration. Each one also uses a highly advance optical multi-layer lens coating to deliver quality pictures at higher contrast; and to minimize ‘Ghosting’ and ‘Flaring’ caused by unnecessary reflections on the lens surface. This ensures high quality, sharp and natural images. The Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T* lens featured on the Cyber-shot R1 is a 12 element lens, arrange in 10 groups to give you a 24mm-120mm (35mm equivalent) wide angle zoom lens. With a 7-blade iris, it gives a maximum aperture of F2.8 at wide angle, and F4.8 when set at telephoto.
Clear Raw Noise Reduction
Using a newly developed Sony original algorithm, the Cyber-shot R1 delivers extremely high, image quality. It achieves this by enhancing ISO sensitivity to 800, 1600, 3200 levels, at greatly increased shutter speeds. This results in less noise, finer details and reduced blur, especially when shooting in low light conditions or moving objects.
Ergonomic, Integrated Design
Optimised for maximum performance and ease of use, the Cyber-shot R1 is a seamless, integrated unit which allows the photographer to take shots more efficiently, without spending time attaching or changing equipment. It also ergonomically designed to put key functions within easy reach, so the photographer can active features without having to change his grip on the camera.
Free Angle 2.0” LCD (Luminance 600CD/M2)
The innovative Free-angle 2.0” LCD allows greater creative freedom, even with difficult shots. Simply lift it up and position it in a variety of shooting angles. In additions, its high luminance of 600 cd/m2 allows you to effectively shoot under bright daylight condition. The Cyber-shot R1 is also the first high-end camera to offer real-time preview, allowing you to adjust settings such as iris, exposure, white balance, auto focus and colour reproduction, and then immediately see the changes on the LCD
